The hoja santa is a very popular aromatic plant in Mexican cuisine (mainly in the southeastern states) thanks to the fact that it aromatizes and flavors foods with very particular herbal notes.

It is essential for traditional Mexican cuisine, several national dishes use it as a condiment, to give them a truly exquisite and incomparable flavor, thus we find its presence and aroma in tamales from different states, in some Oaxacan moles, even in the preparation of fish.

The hoja santa is also used in disorders of the digestive system such as stomach pain, lack of appetite, constipation, diarrhea and stomach inflammation.
