Ground bread is hard bread, usually dried for several days, that has been finely chopped using a grater. Its floury texture is used in the preparation of different dishes and foods in the form of batter, breading or gratin with the intention of providing a hard crust when frying them.

 

 

It is more common to see breadcrumbs originating from white bread because it is more susceptible to becoming hard. Ground bread can be stored in a dry place for several months.
