Alfalfa seeds are the fruits of the plant, since it is a leguminous plant. The seeds are found inside a twisted pod and can produce 6 to 7 seeds per pod. The alfalfa plant produces seeds several times a year, depending on growing conditions, age of the plant and irrigation.
