TEJOCOTE 120gr
The tejocote is a small fruit with great nutritional value, its name comes from the Nahuatl "texócotl", tetl (hard) and xocotl (sour fruit) which means "hard fruit of sour taste", it is also known as manzanita and Indian apple. It is characterized by being round, orange in color and full of small spots that look like freckles.
The tejocote is harvested from August and the months with greater consumption are during November and December, this product is used for the preparation of liquors, typical sweets like ates, jellies, jams and preserves.
This small fruit provides great nutritional value thanks to its high calcium content, which strengthens bones and teeth, iron (necessary to produce hemoglobin, the protein that gives red color to the blood and transports oxygen), B complex, essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system, as well as for the care of skin, nails and hair.
